It was my first time doing a photoshoot on the beach...It’s not something you can do where I live, in Alaska. It was everything and more!
VIGOROUS Magazine: What has been your favorite IPL photo shoot to date?
BRIANNE CRUZ: I would definitely say the Destin, FL beach shoot last year! It was my first time doing a photoshoot on the beach, and it was something I have always wanted to do. It’s not something you can do where I live, in Alaska. It was everything and more!
VM: How would you describe your personal style…where do you pull your inspiration from?
BC: I honestly love comfort for everyday style and I really love dressing up for a special occasion. I get inspired by some of my favorite brands from where I like to shop – most of my clothes are from Nordstrom Rack & Revolve (stylish & affordable)!
I honestly don’t get shy in front of the camera because I’m not a shy person in general. [smiles]
VM: Do you have any hidden talents?
BC: Yes! I have a hidden talent of baton twirling – I twirled competitively for about 15 years and still can do it! Like riding a bike!
VM: Do you ever get shy in front of the camera?
BC: I honestly don’t get shy in front of the camera because I’m not a shy person in general. [smiles]
I definitely think modeling is more strenuous than most people think. Everyone just sees glitz and glamour, but they don’t see the aching back pain...
VM: Is modeling easy, or more strenuous than people realize?
BC: I definitely think modeling is more strenuous than most people think. Everyone just sees glitz and glamour, but they don’t see the aching back pain or constant worry about messing up hair and makeup!
VM: Was modeling something you always wanted to do, or did it just kind of happen?
BC: It just kind of happened through competing in Bikini Bodybuilding! [smiles]
I am a tomboy at heart.
Give us 5 facts about you people may not know.
I love hunting and fishing.
I am a tomboy at heart.
My guilty pleasure (in the offseason of course) is McDonald’s.
I have twin boys that are under 3 years old.
I entered my very first bodybuilding competition at just the age of 16 and won the overall title!
I am so excited for this, and for the rest of my Alaska teammates to compete in this! It’s going to be such a fun, epic weekend!
VM: If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
BC: Mexican food
VM: What’s next for you?
BC: I’m competing in the 1st Annual 2024 IPL Golden Heart Classic in my home state of Alaska this September! I’m beyond grateful for both Ben Yosef and Teresa Quakenbush for bringing back NATURAL Bodybuilding to the great state of Alaska! I am so excited for this, and for the rest of my Alaska teammates to compete in this! It’s going to be such a fun, epic weekend! VIGOROUS
