"Pose" by Yo Gotti always gets me going for obvious reasons!

VIGOROUS MAGAZINE: If you had to choose only one exercise to do for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

LESLEY BECK: I think anything glute related. I’m still trying to build this booty!

VM: What’s your go-to workout playlist or favorite workout song that gets you pumped up for a training session?

LB: I usually use any workout or gym related playlist on Spotify. They have a channel called Beast Mode that I love. “Pose” by Yo Gotti always gets me going for obvious reasons!

VM: Share a funny or memorable gym moment from your fitness journey that still makes you smile when you think about it.

LB: When I stepped on the scale in 2018 at the gym and knew I needed to make a major change-in my diet, in my workouts, and in my life. It certainly didn’t make me smile then, but it does now knowing what I’ve accomplished.

I had two bowls every morning in my pre fit-days! Lucky Charms is the OG of course.

VM: If you could train with any celebrity, dead or alive, who would it be and what workout would you do together?

LB: Ok, can you really call yourself a bodybuilder if you don’t choose Arnold?!? As for our workout, I would be at his mercy.

VM: Do you have any guilty pleasure foods or treats that you indulge in occasionally despite your fitness regimen?

LB: Cereal all day! When I changed my diet that was the hardest thing to give up. I had two bowls every morning in my pre-fit days! Lucky Charms is the OG of course.

VM: We all have cheat days! What’s your ultimate cheat meal that you absolutely love?

LB: Pizza all day. There is a pizza place in Indiana (where I’m from) Arni’s, that is my absolute favorite. I haven’t been able to find anything here that comes close. Also my mom and dad’s graham cracker pudding. Another midwest staple.

No trends or anything special! Just classic bodybuilding methods and ideals. All these trends and fads come and go, primarily because they don’t work or are not sustainable.

VM: Share a quirky or interesting pre-workout ritual or habit you have before hitting the gym or starting a workout.

LB: Not sure if it’s quirky per se, but I always pee before I start cardio even if I don’t have to go. If I don’t, I regret it halfway through my workout!

VM: What’s the most challenging or unconventional workout you’ve ever tried, and how did it turn out?

LB: When I participated in CrossFit we did the “Murph” workout every Memorial Day. It’s a one mile run, followed by 100 pull ups, 200 push ups, 300 air squats and then another 1 mile run. Not sure if I’ll ever do it again, but I’m proud to say I’ve accomplished this more than once.

VM: If you could create your own fitness trend or workout, what would it be called, and what would it involve?

LB: No trends or anything special! Just classic bodybuilding methods and ideals. Weight lifting, steady state cardio, protein at every meal, complex carbs. All these trends and fads come and go, primarily because they don’t work or are not sustainable.

VM: Lastly, outside of fitness, what are your favorite hobbies or activities that bring you joy and balance in life?

LB: Date nights with my husband, being a crazy cat lady, traveling, going back to Indiana to be with my parents and family. VM
