How To Change Your “I’M NOT READY” Mindset & Stop Psyching Yourself Out

Embarking on a Bikini Competition journey can be both exhilarating and nerve-wracking. Many aspiring Bikini Competitors often find themselves grappling with self-doubt and the persistent belief that they are not ready for the stage. In this article, we will explore the common fears that hold individuals back and provide empowering insights on why you should overcome the ‘I’m Not Ready’ mindset and take that bold step onto the stage.

Embrace the Journey:

Becoming a Bikini Competitor is a transformative journey that extends beyond physical appearance. It’s about self-discovery, discipline, and pushing your limits. Instead of fixating on an end goal, embrace the entire process. Recognize that growth happens along the way, and every step forward is a victory.

Challenge Your Comfort Zone:

The ‘I’m Not Ready’ mindset often stems from fear of the unknown. Break free from your comfort zone by challenging yourself with new experiences. Every time you step out of familiar territory, you gain valuable insights and build resilience. Remember, the stage is not just about showcasing your physique but also about showcasing your personal growth.

Trust Your Preparation:

Bikini Athletes dedicate significant time and effort to training, nutrition, and overall preparation. Trust the process and the hard work you’ve put in, or will put int once your contest prep begins. Confidence comes from acknowledging your accomplishments and recognizing that you are among the relatively few who will ever take such a leap and put themselves on this path of growth. Believe in, and celebrate the journey your are on.

Focus on Personal Growth:

Competing should not be just about winning. And it should not be just about trophies, medals or Pro Cards. Yes, all of these things a very cool to earn. But don’t loose sight of what is most important. Personal growth and self-improvement. Shift your mindset from a fear of judgment, fear of not winning, fear of not “placing” or fear of whatever else is holding you back…to mindset of celebration of your achievements. The stage is an opportunity to showcase your dedication, perseverance, and commitment to becoming the best version of yourself.

Realize and Appreciate that You Will Inspire Others:

Taking the stage as a Bikini Competitor is not just a personal achievement. It’s an opportunity to inspire others. Your journey, dedication, and courage can serve as a source of motivation for those who may be contemplating their own fitness journeys. By showcasing your commitment and determination, you become a living testament to the transformative power of discipline and hard work.

More on Inspiration:

Recognize that your decision to step onto the stage may empower others to overcome their fears and pursue their own fitness goals. Your journey has the potential to ignite the spark of determination in someone else’s life. Your courage sends a powerful message that taking risks, pushing boundaries, and embracing challenges are essential elements of personal growth. Embrace the role of an inspiration, and let your courage shine as a beacon for those who may be hesitant to embark on their own transformative fitness journeys.

Surround Yourself with Support:

The journey to the stage can be challenging, but you don’t have to go through it alone. Surround yourself with a support system of like-minded individuals, whether it’s fellow competitors, trainers, or friends. Share your concerns and fears, and let the encouragement of others fuel your confidence.

Remember, Perfection is a Myth:

Nobody is perfect, and expecting perfection from yourself is setting an unrealistic standard. Understand that imperfections make you unique and real. Embrace your individuality, celebrate your progress, and let go of the need to be flawless.

Understand How the IPL's Scoring System Works:

Every Bikini Athlete has strengths and weaknesses. It’s just the nature of the game. In the IPL, athletes receive six scores: Muscularity, Symmetry, Conditioning, Posing/Presentation, Suit/Outfit, and Model Walk\Routine at Finals. Often, an athlete is contemplating not entering a show (or bailing out of one she has already registered for) because she feels she’s not (or won’t be) lean enough or needs to build more muscle etc. Leanness (Conditioning) is one score, Muscularity is one score. Yes, work to score as high as you can in all six categories. That being said, there have been countless occurrences where an athlete was not the leanest on stage or did not have most most muscle on show day. But scored high in the other categories. AND WON. And in many cases, even earned Pro Qualifications. The lesson here? Work as hard as you can and bring what you have worked on. You might just surprise yourself at how well you do.
It’s time to shatter the ‘I’m Not Ready’ mindset and embrace the opportunity to step onto the Bikini Competition stage. Trust in your preparation, focus on personal growth, and surround yourself with support. Remember, the journey is just as important as the destination. Be confident, be proud, and show the world the incredible person you’ve become through your dedication and determination. Compete not just to win, but to celebrate the journey to becoming the best version of yourself. BIKINI
