Karl Hall Wins APEX Pro Bodybuilding, Again!
“I believe it was good, but certainly not my best as I am still trying to reach my fullest potential!”
In 2017 Karl Hall made history by becoming the IPL’s first ever Pro Men’s Bodybuilding Champion, won a second Pro title, and ended his year at APEX II where he won pro title #3 and became the IPL’s first ever APEX Pro Men’s Bodybuilding Champ.
In 2018 Hall stayed on top. Karl was featured in the Spring 2018 issue of NATURALMAG describing his incredible 2017 success and landed on the front cover of the Spring 2018 issue of Natural Gainz Magazine. 2018 IPL APEX III had Hall against 1X IPL Pro Champ, Brian Lorenz. Although Lorenz brought his best look to date, it was not enough to topple the King. Will anyone push 4X (undefeated) Pro Champ Karl Hall off his throne in 2019??? We look forward to finding out!
BEN YOSEF: Bro, congrats on your second APEX win, and retaining the title! How are you feeling about what went down at APEX IV?
KARL HALL: It felt like all my hard work and sacrifices paid off!
YOSEF: How do you feel the package you brought in 2018 compared to 2017 APEX?
HALL: Well, I am always hungry because I’m never satisfied! I think complacency is a serious illness. I keep trying to come better each time, because I’m always striving for improvement.
YOSEF: Wait, I don’t think you answered the question. [laughs]
HALL: I believe it was good, but certainly not my best as I am still trying to reach my fullest potential!
YOSEF: OK, moving along. [laughs] What was your training like last year? And how much Powerlifting did you incorporate this time around?
HALL: Last year my training prep was centered on getting stronger with the “Big 3“. That’s Squats-Bench-Deadlifts. So I competed and won a State meet in powerlifting! Heavy training has been my passion and focus for years now!
“MAYBE MY WEAKNESSES SHOULD BE DISCOVERED BY THOSE LOOKING TO TAKE THE CROWN. UNTIL THEN, I AM FOCUSED ON STAYING HUNGRY!”
YOSEF: Awesome! Congrats on that win! All that Powerlifting definitely shows in your physique! What has your 2019 training been looking like?
HALL: You know the saying, “if it aint broke…” I have basically been prioritizing my strength in all the big lifts…Squats-Bench-Deadlifts-Bent Over Rows, and Overhead press. Everything else takes a back seat.
YOSEF: You obviously have a world-class Bodybuilding physique. However, is there something, or an area that you feel is weak? Something that you feel you need to improve on?
HALL: Ummm… There’s always room for improvement! Maybe my weaknesses should be discovered by those looking to take the crown. Until then, I am focused on staying hungry!
YOSEF: Ha! Nice! And that’s actually a good segue! That championship belt has not seen an IPL stage since APEX last year. When are we going to get a chance to see Karl Hall back in action as well as that big, shiny championship belt back on stage?
“…FOR ALL OF THOSE WHO HAVEN'T STEPPED ON THE STAGE RECENTLY OR YET THIS YEAR...GROW A PAIR!”
HALL: I Am thinking September and October!
YOSEF: Nice! We just have to get some of these dang Pros to came after you! What can we expect from your physique on stage this year? Any surprises?
HALL: Hey, I am always improving. Expect a better physique, but not my best, because of my hunger. I am never satisfied! Oh, and I do plan to throw my hat into the ring for a Men’s Athletic Pro Card. [smiles]
YOSEF: Man, that should be interesting! Well, once again, congratulations on your success in 2018. I’m looking forward to seeing what you bring this year! Any final words?
HALL: Yes! I wanna express my sincerest thanks to this beautiful organization and hard working staff of the IPL. I know a lot of hard work goes on behind the scenes to give us the greatest show possible. Also, special shout out to the Master of Photography Michael Brooks for his extraordinary gifts of capturing pics of perfection. And for all of those who haven’t stepped on the stage recently or yet this year…GROW A PAIR! NMI
