FITNESS ANGELS POSING & GUIDELINES

Guidelines

Fitness Angels attire includes angel wings and a bikini-style suit.
Athletes who compete in the Bikini division may wear the same competition suit in Fitness Angels. Be sure the suit complements and works well with the wings.
Athletes may also wear other bikini-style suits, including unique or more theatrical designs appropriate for their Fitness Angels presentation.
Suits may be plain, patterned, or have stones.
Wings may resemble traditional angel wings, Victoria’s Secret-style wings, or other creative wing designs.
The suit, wings, and overall look should complement one another and create a cohesive presentation.
Nothing may drag along the floor.
Jewelry and hair ornaments are allowed at Pre-Judging and Finals.
Presentation, including the presentation of the wings, make-up and hair, is judged.
Clear Competition Heels. With or without stones. (no minimum or maximum heel height)

Posing

Fitness Angels does not have mandatory poses.
Athletes will be presented to the judges from the Front, First Side, Back, and Second Side. The poses shown in the Fitness Angels posing examples are intended as examples and inspiration and are not required poses.
Athletes have significant freedom to create poses that complement their physique, wings, and overall Fitness Angels presentation.
Athletes are encouraged to embody their wings and incorporate them into their posing. The wings should feel like an intentional part of the presentation rather than simply an accessory being worn.
Poses used in other IPL divisions are permitted. However, athletes are encouraged to be creative and develop poses that are unique to their Fitness Angels look and presentation.
Arm positions, hand positions, leg positions, stance, and the presentation of the wings may vary considerably from athlete to athlete.
The more effectively an athlete incorporates and embodies the wings through creative, controlled posing, the stronger the overall presentation may be.
FRONT
The athlete should face and present toward the judges.
There is no required Front Pose.
Athletes may select a front-facing pose that best showcases their physique, wings, suit, and overall Fitness Angels look.
Arm, hand, and leg positions are open and may be used creatively to complement the shape, size, and style of the wings.
FIRST SIDE
Quarter turn to the athlete’s right.
There is no required Side Pose.
Athletes should select a side-oriented pose that showcases the physique while continuing to incorporate the wings into the overall presentation.
Athletes may use creative arm, hand, leg, and body positioning appropriate for their individual Fitness Angels look.
BACK
Quarter turn to the athlete’s right.
There is no required Back Pose.
Athletes should present the back of the physique while also taking advantage of the opportunity to showcase the wings.
Because the wings are a major visual component of Fitness Angels, athletes are encouraged to use posing that displays their shape, size, movement, or design effectively.
SECOND SIDE
Quarter turn to the athlete’s right.
There is no required Side Pose.
Athletes should select a side-oriented pose that showcases the physique and wings from the opposite side.
The Second Side Pose does not need to mirror the First Side Pose. Athletes may use a completely different pose and are encouraged to take advantage of the creative freedom of the division.
OVERALL PRESENTATION
Fitness Angels is intended to be a fluid, creative, and theatrical division.
Athletes should demonstrate confidence, personality, creativity, and control while presenting both their physique and their wings.
Transitions between positions should be smooth and intentional. Athletes are encouraged to continue embodying the Fitness Angels character throughout the presentation rather than treating each position as a rigid mandatory pose.
Creativity is encouraged. The goal is to create a memorable Fitness Angels presentation while still clearly showcasing the athlete’s physique.
